The New Phase of Life - COLLEGE LIFE

After passing 10+from St. Xaviers Institution,Panihati its was the time for me to say good bye to my school mates and step forward towards another phase of life - College. At the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Counselling Centre , I allotted my college and stream for persuing Bachelor Degree in Technology.
I was allotted to Guru Nanak Institute of Technology(GNIT) ,Sodpur. with the stream Computer Science & Engineering. Here is a brief about our college :

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology of Technology is an engineering college located in West Bengal,Indian. The college was established in 2003 by the JIS Group, in Panihati,Sodpur,a suburb of Kolkata.The college is an AICTE-approved institution and is affilated to West Bengal University of Technology.

The Campus
The GNIT campus is located on Nilgunj Road,In Sodpur,at a walking distance of 7minutes from Sodpur Railway Station on 4,0468 squares meters of land The college shares the campus with other sister colleges of JIS Group.

The Engineering college has one main U shaped building.An adjacent building is used for workshop practicals.

Placement
Placement has always been good in this institute with an overall percentage of over 10%. In the year 2008-2009 most of the students were placed in Tata Consultency Services,Infosys,Tech Mahindra,L&T Software,Infogen Global,Assurgent.In the year 2010 students were placed in Tata Consultency Services,Capgemini,Patni through on-campus recruitment & on Wipro through off-campus recruitment.So far companies like TCS,Tech Mahindra,American Megatrends India Pvt.Ltd.,Oracle Financial Services Software Limited,Johnson Controls,KPIT Cummins,Huawei Technologies,CMC have organised pool campus for JIS group and recruited students.
